Roseville Pottery Matt Jardiniere 548-4 Late 1920s With Sticker
The Matt line pieces from the second production in the late 1920s had added refreshing gloss glazes in blue and pink. Roseville Pottery always seemed to be truly in tune with the decor periods that they served. This small jardiniere is shape number 548 at 4 inches tall and 4.5 inches across the rim. Such a beautiful deep rose pink glaze. It is in exceptional condition for a vintage piece of art pottery that is approaching its 100th birthday. There is absolutely no crazing at all. No chips, fissures or repairs. Astonishingly, the original paper label is intact. The label color has been rubbed off, but the Roseville Pottery impression is clearly visible and easily read. This shape is listed, for reference, in Huxford 1980, page 87.
