Sunchoke - Beaver Valley Purple (Jerusalem Artichoke) Tubers x3
These are the Beaver Valley Purple Variety of Jerusalem Artichokes (Helianthus tuberosus). They produce edible tubers that taste like a cross between a potato and apple. Tubers can be dug as needed during fall/winter months for optimum sweetness. Any tubers left in the ground make more plants next year.3 tubers will come in a mildly damp soil mix with at least 3 growth points per tuber and may have started to sprout. Plant soon after receipt for best results. They can go directly in the ground, or in a pot if the ground is too frozen and perform best at a planting depth of 2-4”. They are really quite durable, and have been subjected to the harshest conditions I could throw at them without complaint. Sunchokes can become permanent, so only plant where you aren’t worried about them staying. This type gets about 3-4’ tall, and bloom late summer until the first frost with showy sunflower like blooms. They make a lovely cut flower arrangement.Always organically grown. Happy to bundle!
